Houston, TX - Mr. Winfred Nolan Horn left this life on Saturday March 27, 2021 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Houston at the age of 77 years, 9 months, and 5 days. Graveside services with Military Honors are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday – April 2, 2021 at Hewitt Cemetery Pavilion in Wilson, Oklahoma with the family and friends sharing special remembrances.

Mr. Horn was born on May 22, 1943 in Wilson, Oklahoma to the late Mr. Herbert Andrew Horn and Mrs. Madeline Lenore (Glenn) Horn.

He grew up in Graham, TX and after graduation he attended Texas Tech University for one year before entering the United States Army. He was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War and, after an honorable discharge, he continued his education at the University of Texas. Winfred received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with Honors in 1972, and spent the majority of his career with Pennzoil in Houston, as an accountant, with a short stint in Pecos, Texas. Winfred was a true renaissance man with a generous spirit. He was an exceptional baker who baked with the intention of sharing with others and his cheesecake was second-to-none. He was an avid reader, and his interests ranged from history to philosophy, music and film.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Madeline Horn, a brother Curtis Horn, and his nephew and kindred spirit Mark May.

Mr. Horn is survived by his sisters, Christine (Horn) Hooper of Abilene, TX; Arlene (Horn) Brown of Ardmore, OK; Helen (Horn) Musser and husband Wylie of Terrell, TX; brother, Bill Horn and wife Carmen of New Braunfels, TX; his aunts Maxine (Horn) Clark of Lone Grove, OK; Ella (Horn) Herrell of Bryan, TX; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, as well as an important and loyal host of friends who loved Winfred as if he were their family.

Serving as Honorary Casket Bearers will be Scott Logan, Hector Flores, and Dale French.

Viewing will be held on Thursday –April 1, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and Friday April 2, from 9:00 A.M. to 1:30 Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson. After the service, family and friends will gather at the Wilson Chamber of Commerce to celebrate Winfred in the way he would for any celebration – with food and frivolity.
