Billie and I became friends through a mutual friend Bobby (Miller) Couch when we were in high school. She was a beautiful soul. Many probably know that Billie had a beautiful singing voice and we, as young and sometimes slightly wild girls, encouraged her to sing to us as often as possible. I had not seen Billie in a long time and one day about 10 to 15 years ago I was listening to, of course, country music on Sirius and heard "A Soldiers Last Letter" by Ernest Tubb. This was one of the songs Billie often sang. She said her daddy used to sing it. We would all cry. After hearing this song I could not get her off my mind. I began calling around until I found her, through Chris. It was so good to talk to her after all those years. I saw her one more time when she lived in assisted living in Ardmore. I know her family will miss her. My prayers are with those who loved her. Louise (Everett) Turner, Duncan, OK
