Mr. Herschel Lee Pierce, of Leon, departed this life on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at his residence in Leon at the age of 79 years, 2 months, and 15 days. Graveside services are scheduled for 10: 00 A.M. Friday, March 5, 2021 at the Leon Cemetery in Leon, OK with Rev. Jimmy May officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
Herschel was born on December 19, 1941 in Leon to the late Mr. H.A. Pierce Jr. and Mrs. Thelma Grace (Lawson) Pierce.
Mr. Pierce grew up and lived in Leon his entire life. He graduated with the Leon High School Class of 1960. He believed in hard work and lived a simple life on his farm raising peanuts, cattle and other crops throughout the years. Herschel always enjoyed listening to music, going for a ride to town with his family and spending time with them. When he wasn't farming he could be found outdoors tinkering around on his trucks or a motorcycle. He was of the Baptist and a member of Leon Baptist Church.
Herschel is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Jackie (Dees) Pierce.
He leaves to cherish his memory daughter, Sheila Nipp of Rubottom; sons, Rodney Pierce and wife Kristen of Leon, Kevin Pierce and wife Brandi of Leon, Justin Pierce and wife Karyn of Durant; brother, Terry Pierce and wife Leona of Leon; Niece, Cristal Pierce of Huntington Beach, CA;11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren many other relatives and host of friends.
