Pruitt City - Graveside services for Mr. Payton "Pate" Lee Mumford, 32, of Pruitt City are scheduled for 3:00 PM Friday, Jan. 22, 2021 at the Ratliff City Cemetery with Rev. Carl Taylor, Rev. Mike Johnston and Rev. Roger Sims officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Pate was born March 29, 1988 at Ardmore to Mr. Jimmy Lee Mumford and Mrs. Darla Jayne (Bolles) Mumford. He went to his heavenly home Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021 at Empire City, OK.
Pate was raised at Fox attending school there. He graduated from Fox High School in 2007 and then attended college at Redlands Community College where he was on a judging team and received his associates degree. He then furthered his education at OSU where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Range Management.
Pate returned to this area and served an internship at the Noble Foundation before becoming employed with the Natural Resources Conservation Service as a Resource Conservationist. Pate always loved being a caretaker of the land and enjoyed farming. He had a passion for restoring old things new, especially old tractors and guns. Pate was a member of the Fox Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth "Pete" Bolles, Jewell "Judy" (Shrader) Bolles and Tom Mumford; uncles, Ronnie Butler and Rick Mumford and aunt, Sherry (Mumford) Huggins;
Survivors include his parents, Jim and Darla Mumford of home; brother, Dillon Mumford and wife Carson of Fox; grandmother, Louise Mumford of Fox; numerous other family and friends.
Casket bearers are Chad Butler, Dillon Martin, Chris Caldwell, Curt Owens, Robbie Bowles and Alex Macomber.
Honorary bearers are his co-workers with NRCS and GySgt Chance Butler.
