His early years he attended Mountain Home School, then moving to Loco in his teens where he excelled in basketball. Graduating in 1950, Curly joined the Navy and proudly served his country as MP for the next four years. After his discharge from the Navy, he began working for Halliburton where he learned his trade as a machinist. In 1960, he took a position with Boeing as a mill operator where due to his excellent math skills he became supervisor. Curly’s most memorable project at Boeing was his work on the Lunar Rover.
