Home going services for Luther “Curly” Griffith Jr. 88, of Healdton, are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Tuesday August 25, 2020, at the Asphaltum Worship Center with Rev. John Harris and Rev. Doug Hickman officiating. Interment will follow at Dixie Cemetery. Services are under care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton.

Curly was born on October 23, 1931 at Dixie, to Luther “Luke” Griffith and Cora Mae (Duck) Griffith.
His early years he attended Mountain Home School, then moving to Loco in his teens where he excelled in basketball. Graduating in 1950, Curly joined the Navy and proudly served his country as MP for the next four years. After his discharge from the Navy, he began working for Halliburton where he learned his trade as a machinist. In 1960, he took a position with Boeing as a mill operator where due to his excellent math skills he became supervisor. Curly’s most memorable project at Boeing was his work on the Lunar Rover. After his retirement in 1985, Curly bought a motor home dividing his time between Arizona, Texas and Oklahoma. On one such trip to Oklahoma, he met Miss Emily while each were visiting relatives in the Healdton Nursing Center. Curly and Emily Ann Carroll were married on February 14th, 1994 at Asphaltum and made their home in Loco later purchasing the old Woodworth House in Ringling where Curly was prohibited from entering as a child. In 2013, they decided to down size to a smaller home and acreage in Healdton.

Curly was preceded in death by his parents Luther Sr. and Cora Mae Griffith, his wife Nedra Griffith, and a special friend Linda Clark.

Survivors include wife of the home Emily Griffith, sister Wanda Faye Bright and Companion Doyle Slaymon of Blanchard, OK, son Michael Lewis Coskey of Las Vegas, NV, daughter Michelle Faye Coskey Mayorga of Las Vegas, NV, stepdaughters Dawn Marie Bentley Gersema of Nampa, ID, and Lynda Allmaras and husband Nick of Florence, AZ, stepsons John C. Bentley and wife Natallie of Federal Way, WA, Harlan Carroll and wife Brenda of Healdton, OK, Jackie “Bud” Carroll and wife Sherry of Healdton, OK, Tim Carroll and wife Donna of Camargo, OK, and special friend George Carlton of Loco, OK. Curly is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Stephen Carroll, Jeremy Carlton, Jeff Webb, Harlan Carroll, Bud Carroll, and Tim Carroll.

Honorary Pallbearers are the men of Asphaltum Worship Center, Jesse Brown, Scotty Baird, Chris Baird, James Powell, Jason Carlton, and Aron Watts.

Viewing and visitation will be at the home of Harlan and Brenda Carroll, 5030 Airport Road, Healdton, OK., beginning Sunday evening.
