Anna Lee,
I knew Allen, "ARP" to those of us who worked in the programming groups, almost from the time I began work at Phillips in June, 1968. We worked in different areas, but he was easy to know and was willing to help out a newbie. His obituary spoke of him twice as a "quiet, gentle man." It is an apt description, for such he was.

I am sorry I didn't know of his passing soon enough to try to attend the funeral. It would have been the least I could have done.

I know you will be missing him, but remember our LORD's promise to be to be "a defender of the widow" (Ps. 68:5), to "relieve the widow" (Ps. 146:9), and in Jer. 49:11, He reminds widows to"trust in Me." Our LORD will be with you always to comfort and guide you.

Blessings to you,
Lloyd Landers

Anna Lee, I was shocked and saddened to read of Allen's death in the E-E today. My condolences to you, your daughters and grandchildren. I always enjoyed being in Allen's presence. He was so kind and got along with everyone. ( That last sentence will not be said about me, unfortunately). He and I did not socialize much away from work, but I have many fond memories of discussions we had at work. His services were already over before I knew of his passing.
