Wilson - Facebook services are scheduled to be broadcasted live for Mrs. Johnnie "B" (Davis) Ward, 94, of Wilson for Wednesday April 15, 2020 on Alexander Gray Funeral Home Facebook page with Jeff Jones officiating. Interment will be at Bomar Point cemetery of Wilson.

B was born on Nov. 30, 1925 at Lone Grove to the late Mr. John Wesley Davis and Mrs. Tennie F. (Baker) Davis. She departed this life on Friday, April 10, 2020 at Lone Grove.

B was raised in Wilson graduating high school from here in 1943. During her senior year, she secretly married Mr. Billy Joe "Bo" Ward on Feb. 11, 1943 at Ringling. She continued to keep this a secret until she graduated high school surprising her parents with the news.

Bo being in the NAVY, they moved to California and where B remained until his deployment. She then drove back to Oklahoma for the first time as a driver, returning home with her parents until Bo's discharge. When he returned home, they moved to Pauls Valley where B worked as a secretary for Ralph Shebester before she and Bo moved back to Wilson and established Wards Hardware and Appliance. B became employed the Wilson Tag Agency, being appointed by Sen. Ernest Martin which she worked at for over 60 years.

They were most well known for their Christmas Light Park off of Hwy 70, in which was open to the public for many years. B's favorite part about the park was enjoying the children and forwarding Santa Claus's letters. There was never a letter that got left in the mailbox that never was read. They handmade all the decorations and always gave out candy to everyone who visited.

B also enjoyed quilting and loved to sell her quilts at the Tag agency with her sister Sis Turner. She and Bo enjoyed taking many trips to Branson and always enjoyed camping. B was a member of the Ash Street Church of Christ of Wilson.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Bo Ward on July 12, 2008; sister, Sis Turner; brothers, W. Gilbert “Bub” Davis and Doyle Davis; niece, Amy (Davis) McKinney; nephew, Gordon Davis and great nephews, Gianni Turner and Daniel Davis.

Survivors include a brother, Ray Davis of Wilson; sister in law, Edie Davis of Wilson; nephews and nieces, Johnny Turner and wife Angela, Scott Davis and wife Kasey, Steve Davis, Bruce Davis, Susan Clayton, Deborah Bowles and husband John, Lori Ledbetter and husband Les and Cam Davis and wife Teasha; two special granddaughters, Nicki Duncan and Makayl Stone; special friends, Bennie and Deb Patrick; numerous other family, church family and friends.

Honorary Bearers are the fellow members of the Ash Street Church of Christ and all the workers and attendees of the Wilson Nutrition Center.

Viewing will be from 1pm to 8pm Monday and 8am to 8pm Tuesday at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
