Obituary

Ringling - Funeral Services for Mr. Rodrick Dean Armstrong, 81, of Ringling is scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday Dec. 12, 2019 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Ringling with Bro. Bobby Perkins and Rev. Ron Elmore officiating. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery with military honors provided by the Chickasaw Honors Team.

Dean was born on Nov. 1, 1938 at Ringling to the late Mr. Roland D. Armstrong and Mrs. Mina Melvina "Vina" (Thompson) Armstrong. He departed this life on Saturday Dec. 7, 2019 at the Healdton Hospital.

Dean was raised in Ringling attending most of his school years there, graduating from Ringling High School in 1956. He was hired at Tinker Air Force Base on July of 1957 where he worked several years as a Radio Technician. After he retired from there, Dean moved back to Ringling to be closer to his family.

Dean was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving two years within the communication division. Dean loved watching OU, Dallas Cowboys, and the Ringling Blue Devils. He also loved working crossword puzzles.

Preceding him in death are his parents Roland and "Vina".

Survivors include his daughter, Vickie Prewitt of Velma; sons, Sam Armstrong of Ringling, Bobby Armstrong of Bethany, and Tim Armstrong and wife Lisa of Mustang; sister, Mary Roberts and husband Johnny "Bim" of Ringling; brother, Don Armstrong of Newalla; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers will be Todd Barnes, Justin Ward, Billy Geraghty, Ricky Austin, Charlie Cargile, and Junior Ruiz.

Honorary Bearers are the Ringling Class of 1956.

Family visitation will be held from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Wednesday evening at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Ringling.

Dennie-Beanie, that was my nickname for you from years ago. You most likely were not a fan of it but you would just smile when I called you that. You are going to be missed by so many. We are cousins but we were friends too. Miguel & I have spent hours visiting with you, Miguel always talking about whatever fancy car you owned at the time. I recall you with such fondness, you brightened our lives. Rest In Peace my cousin, my friend.
