Obituary

Healdton - Funeral Services for Mrs. Noreta (Parks) Stewart, 81, of Healdton are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday June 21, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Healdton with Derek Ruhl officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Olive Cemetery in Healdton. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton - 65 Golf Course Rd.

Noreta was born on September 9, 1937 at Oklahoma City to the late Mr. Willie Gus Parks and Mrs. Opal Mae (Poe) Parks. She departed this life Tuesday June 18, 2019 at her home in Healdton.

When Noreta was three years old, the family moved from Oklahoma to California. She was was an excellent student and graduated from Redlands Senior High School in 1956. After graduation she went to secretarial school. While attending school she learned that if you answer the phone with a smile on your face, people can hear your smile in your voice. That beautiful smile stayed with her the remainder on her life.

On December 6, 1958, she married the love of her life, Mr. John Ray Stewart. They were married for 61 years. In 1978, Noreta and her family moved to Healdton. She worked for the Healdton Herald for several years and then accepted the position as church secretary at the Healdton First Baptist Church. After 20 years as the church secretary she retired in 2005. Noreta loved her job as church secretary. Family members were often told that Noreta was one of the sweetest people they knew.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dean Parks and an infant brother, Jimmy Parks.
Survivors include her husband John Ray Stewart of the home; daughter, Sherrilyn Stewart of Dallas, TX; son, John Kent Stewart and wife Tammy of Paoli; granddaughter, Stefany Ruhl and husband Derek of Garland, TX; grandson, John William Stewart of Purcell; numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers will be David Stewart , Greg Bailey, Tony Bailey, Hunter Horton, Larry Bruner and Joe Bailey.

Family visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Healdton.
